Components

Components are essential for a 3D model and constitute the real elements that the designer decides to insert in the model.
The views within a building may differ, for example, components such as beams and walls are displayed in all views, many other elements however, such as dimensions and labels, are displayed only in one view, that is, the one in which they were placed. Furthermore, each component is always in relation with another elementbecause an association between them is established. These rules and links make it easier and faster to modify the model.

Families

Revit arranges each component that is added to the model into families.
A family is a group of components defined by the same use, by similar dimensions and shapes. In the case where there should be beams of dissimilar dimensions, all the dimensions would still belong to a family of beams.

Features

Modelling

In projects carried out with Revit, each drawing and 2D/3D section constitutes a set of information deriving from the same virtual architectural model. Revit allows you to collect information from all other sections of the project and to automatically manage changes in any point, for instance in schedules and plants.

Parameters

Parameters make it possible to establish the dimensions, points, structure and other information corresponding to a component included in a project. “Parametric modelling” identifies the connection among all the elements of a project, which allow the designer to manage variants in Revit. These connections may be generated automatically by the system or directly by the worker.
